Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwiches At Holey Cream

Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwiches At Holey Cream

If you care about calories, don't step foot inside Holey Cream in Midtown. Doughnuts. Cupcakes. Ice cream. Cookies. Milkshakes. But I only came here for one thing: the Doughnut Ice Cream Sandwich ($7.25). Don't expect to be in and out of this establishment in a couple of minutes if you choose to create your own doughnut. With close to 30 flavors of ice cream to choose from (plus sorbet and frozen yogurt) and a large selection of toppings, your mind will be boggling. I chose to go with a S'mores doughnut, which comes with a delectable marshmallow sauce, chocolate fudge and graham cracker crumbs. I don't know what possessed me, but I thought that wasn't enough and told the girl behind the counter to add heath bar bits on top. Then I picked out strawberry, milky way and homemade deep Belgian chocolate chip for my ice cream flavors. The chocolate one was so good I wished I had just gotten 3 scoops of that. My boyfriend went for the Cookies & Cream doughnut. The sheer size of these doughnut ice cream sandwiches will make your eyes pop out of your head. The first thing I said when she handed it to me was 'How am I going to eat that?!' The answer is, with a spoon and you will eat it all. Just don't come here straight after dinner. You're going to need extra room for all that goodness.
