Noodle Village has the Best Wonton Soup
To label any food 'the best' is a bold statement. But it this case, it's extremely true. To be the 'best', wonton soup needs to have the following: the ingredients used must be of high quality, and you must be able to tell this dish was made with care and attention. The wonton wrapper cannot be chewy, it must be paper-thin and tender. The filling must be packed with flavor. The broth should be tasty and be a good balance of ocean and meat flavors, finished with vegetable goodness. Noodle Village in Manhattan's Chinatown meets all of this criteria with their shrimp wonton soup and left me full and satisfied on New Year's Day. After indulging in a bit too much wine and cake on New Year's Eve, this was just what my body needed. I also had a plate of Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce which accompanied the wonton soup nicely. The wontons themselves were big and juicy, with pork and the shrimp is whole, not ground-up, so it really pops in your mouth. I will definitely be back.
