Agavi Organic Juice Bar now has 2 locations in Manhattan: the original in the East Village, and the newly opened location in Chelsea, at the Terminal Stores. After a scenic stroll along the Hudson River, I was in need of a pick-me-up, and Agavi Organic Juice Bar fit the bill.

The menu consists of juices, cold-pressed juices, cold pressed boosters, smoothies, protein shakes, açai bowls, a pitaya bowl, oatmeal, soups and health shots. I chose the Blue Majik bowl with homemade almond milk, pineapple, banana, chia seeds, strawberries, coconut, blue majik and raw agave ($13).

Not only was it completely delicious, I also felt really great about eating it since it’s made with all natural, all-organic ingredients. Blue Majik is a proprietary extract of the blue-green algae Arthrospira platensis and is derived from spirulina. But rest assured, I had no idea there was any algae in there, you can’t taste it with all the other ingredients. Just know it’s very nourishing for your body! It’s high in protein and low in calories.
