The Last Swim of Summer
I'm a water baby. Always have been, always will be. This past weekend here in the States was Labor Day weekend, which also signals the official end of Summer. Being from New Zealand, where we are so spoiled with beaches everywhere and many within close driving distance to our homes (I live 2 minutes drive from one), I was totally determined to spend Saturday swimming and lazing on the sand. I had heard good things about Jones Beach on Long Island, which is just over an hour from Manhattan, so I decided to go there and loved every second. Even though I didn't manage to not get burnt (I'm beginning to think it's impossible for me). The curse of having fair skin! Lobster skin aside, Jones Beach is a beautiful beach and reminded me of home. It even has sand dunes.
